Do we use artificial intelligence? Yes. Our AI Escape Concierge uses an artificial intelligence service to interpret the travel request you submit. The resulting structured travel preferences are then used with Couples Escapes hotel and destination data to identify potential matches. Learn more under AI Concierge and Artificial Intelligence.
Do we keep a persistent AI Concierge profile about you? No. We do not currently maintain persistent AI Concierge conversation histories, remember Concierge preferences between visits, associate Concierge travel intents with persistent user profiles, use Concierge prompts to personalize future visits, or build advertising profiles from Concierge conversations.
Do we use AI Concierge prompts to train our own AI models? No. Couples Escapes does not train its own artificial intelligence model using AI Concierge conversations. Our third-party AI provider may temporarily process request content as described later in this notice.
Do we share information with service providers? Yes, where necessary to operate the Services. This can include providers of artificial intelligence, security and anti-abuse services, hosting and infrastructure, analytics, affiliate services, and other technical services.
Do we sell personal information for money? We do not sell personal information in exchange for money. Certain advertising, analytics, or affiliate technologies can be treated as ″sale″ or ″sharing″ under some US state privacy laws even when no money is exchanged. Applicable rights are described below.
What are your privacy rights? Depending on where you live and which privacy law applies, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of certain personal information.
1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
Information you voluntarily provide
In Short: We may process information that you voluntarily provide when you use interactive features, contact us, or otherwise communicate with us.
Depending on how you use the Services, information you voluntarily provide may include:
Travel preferences, destinations, trip settings, hotel preferences, amenities, occasions, budget preferences, or other information submitted to the AI Escape Concierge.
Information contained in emails, support requests, feedback, or other communications you send to us.
Other information you intentionally provide through available website forms or interactive features.
Sensitive information
We do not intentionally request sensitive personal information through our Services or AI Escape Concierge.
Please do not submit passwords, payment information, financial account details, government identification numbers, highly sensitive health information, or other highly sensitive personal information through free-text features.
Because free-text fields allow users to decide what they type, it is possible for a person to voluntarily include information that may be considered sensitive under applicable law. If you voluntarily provide such information, it may be processed as part of providing the requested feature.
Information automatically processed
In Short: Certain technical and usage information may be processed automatically when you access or use the Services.
This information may include:
Log and Usage Data. Internet Protocol address, request date and time, pages or features used, referring URL, browser type, operating system, error information, and similar diagnostic or usage information.
Device Data. Browser and device characteristics, device type, operating system, language, and similar technical information.
Approximate Location Data. General geographic information such as country, region, or approximate location may be derived from an IP address or similar technical information.
Security and Abuse Signals. Technical and interaction signals may be processed for spam detection, CAPTCHA verification, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and abuse prevention.
We do not use the AI Escape Concierge to request your precise GPS location. If another feature ever specifically requests precise device location, such access would depend on the permissions available through your browser or device.
2. HOW DO WE PROCESS YOUR INFORMATION?
In Short: We process information to provide and operate the Services, produce requested recommendations, maintain security, understand service usage, communicate with users, and comply with applicable legal requirements.
Depending on how you interact with us, we may process information for the following purposes:
To provide AI-assisted travel recommendations. We process information submitted to the AI Escape Concierge to interpret your travel request, identify relevant destinations and hotels, and provide a recommendation.
To provide and maintain website features. We process information necessary to operate website functionality, deliver content, respond to requests, and maintain the technical operation of the Services.
To protect our Services and prevent abuse. We may process limited technical information, request information, CAPTCHA signals, and derived security identifiers to detect spam, prevent automated abuse, enforce rate limits, investigate technical problems, and maintain service reliability.
To understand and improve the Services. We may use analytics and aggregated or de-identified usage information to understand how website features are used and improve performance, content, and user experience.
To communicate with you. We may use information you voluntarily provide to respond to questions, requests, feedback, or other communications.
To comply with legal requirements. We may process information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, valid legal process, or enforceable government requests.
3. AI CONCIERGE AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
In Short: Our AI Escape Concierge uses artificial intelligence to interpret travel preferences that you voluntarily submit and help identify romantic destinations and hotels that may fit your request.
Information processed through the AI Concierge
When you use the AI Escape Concierge, we process the text you enter into the request field. This may include destinations, travel settings, occasions, preferred hotel styles, property types, desired amenities, travel moods, and other travel preferences you choose to provide.
AI Concierge prompts are currently limited to 500 characters. You do not need to provide your name, email address, account credentials, or payment information to receive a recommendation.
How the AI Concierge works
The text of your request is transmitted to a third-party artificial intelligence provider for interpretation. The AI service converts your request into structured travel preferences.
Couples Escapes then uses those structured preferences with hotel and destination information maintained in our database to identify and rank possible matches. The artificial intelligence service is not relied on as the sole source of hotel names, ratings, amenities, booking links, or other structured hotel records shown in Concierge recommendations.
OpenAI
We currently use OpenAI's API to provide artificial intelligence processing for the AI Escape Concierge.
OpenAI states that inputs and outputs submitted through its API are not used to train or improve OpenAI models by default unless the API customer explicitly opts in to data sharing. You can learn more in OpenAI's business data privacy information.
Under OpenAI's standard API data controls, content associated with API requests may be included in abuse-monitoring logs retained for up to 30 days, subject to OpenAI's applicable data controls, retention settings, and legal requirements. See OpenAI's API data controls and retention documentation.
No persistent Concierge profile
Couples Escapes does not currently maintain persistent conversation histories for the AI Escape Concierge.
We also do not currently:
save AI Concierge prompt histories for later personalization;
remember AI Concierge travel preferences between visits;
associate AI Concierge travel intents with a persistent visitor or user profile;
personalize future website visits based on previous AI Concierge prompts; or
use AI Concierge prompts to build advertising profiles.
We do not currently plan to introduce these forms of persistent AI Concierge profiling. If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Notice before describing the feature differently.
AI accuracy and limitations
Artificial intelligence can misunderstand a request, generate an imperfect interpretation, or produce incomplete information.
Hotel prices, availability, amenities, policies, fees, ratings, opening information, and other travel details may also change. You should verify important information with the relevant hotel or booking provider before making a reservation or travel decision.
Sensitive information and the AI Concierge
The AI Escape Concierge is intended for ordinary travel planning. Please do not enter passwords, payment card information, financial account information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive personal information into the Concierge.
4. WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON?
Where applicable privacy law requires a legal basis for processing personal information, the basis depends on the processing activity and applicable jurisdiction.
Depending on the circumstances, we may rely on:
Providing a service or responding to your request. For example, processing the travel preferences you submit so that the AI Escape Concierge can provide a requested recommendation.
Legitimate interests. We may rely on legitimate interests in operating, securing, maintaining, and improving the Services, preventing fraud or abuse, protecting our systems, and understanding service performance, where those interests are not overridden by applicable privacy rights.
Consent. We may rely on consent where applicable law requires or permits it, including for certain cookies, tracking technologies, or optional features.
Legal obligations. We may process information when necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where the personal data protection laws of North Macedonia or another jurisdiction apply, we identify and document an appropriate legal basis as required by applicable law.
5. WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION?
In Short: We may disclose limited information to service providers where necessary to operate, secure, analyze, or support our Services.
Vendors, contractors, and service providers
We may disclose personal information to vendors, contractors, and service providers that perform services on our behalf and need access to information to perform those services.
Where required, these providers are subject to contractual or legal obligations concerning their processing, confidentiality, security, and use of personal information.

OpenAI
AI Concierge prompts are transmitted to OpenAI's API so the travel request can be interpreted into structured travel preferences. Additional information about this processing appears in Section 3 above.
Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA to help detect automated requests, spam, fraud, and abuse involving interactive website features, including the AI Escape Concierge.
reCAPTCHA may process technical and interaction signals, which can include information concerning the browser or device, IP address, and interactions with the protected feature, for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
Rate limiting and Upstash
We use rate-limiting infrastructure, including Upstash Redis, to help prevent automated abuse and excessive use of interactive features.
For AI Concierge rate limiting, our server may process an IP address associated with the request and derive a cryptographic identifier from it. The derived identifier, rather than the plain IP address used to create it, is used as the rate-limit key in our application.
Rate-limiting systems may also process request timestamps, counters, and related operational information. We do not use AI Concierge rate-limit identifiers to build travel-preference or advertising profiles.
Affiliate and booking services
Some hotel links may lead to third-party booking, travel, or affiliate services. Couples Escapes may earn a commission if you make a booking through certain links, at no additional cost to you.
When you leave Couples Escapes and visit a third-party booking service, the third party's own privacy terms and data practices apply.
Business transfers
We may disclose or transfer information in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
Legal disclosures
We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request; protect rights or security; investigate abuse; or defend legal claims.
6. DO WE USE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?
In Short: Yes. Cookies and similar technologies may be used for website functionality, security, analytics, and other purposes described in this notice.
Cookies and similar technologies may help us:
operate basic website functionality;
protect the Services from spam and abuse;
understand website usage and performance;
remember permitted website preferences; and
support analytics, affiliate attribution, or other functionality where applicable.
Google reCAPTCHA may use cookies or similar technical mechanisms as part of fraud and abuse prevention.
Your browser may allow you to block or delete cookies. Blocking certain cookies may affect some website features.
Where we provide a cookie preference control, you may also use that control to manage available optional choices.
7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP INFORMATION?
In Short: We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
AI Concierge
Couples Escapes does not currently maintain a persistent database of AI Concierge conversation histories or user travel-preference profiles.
AI Concierge information may nevertheless be temporarily processed in server infrastructure, security systems, service-provider systems, and technical logs necessary to provide and secure the feature.
OpenAI currently states that standard API abuse monitoring logs may retain API content for up to 30 days unless a different approved retention configuration applies or longer retention is legally required.
Security and technical information
Security, abuse-prevention, rate-limit, analytics, and infrastructure information may be retained for periods reasonably necessary to provide those functions, investigate incidents, maintain reliability, satisfy contractual obligations, or comply with applicable law.
When information is no longer reasonably required for the applicable purpose, we may delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with our systems and legal obligations.
8. HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION SAFE?
In Short: We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information processed through the Services.
Measures may include access controls, HTTPS encryption in transit, server-side processing of sensitive credentials, anti-automation controls, request validation, rate limiting, and other security practices appropriate to the Services.
For example, AI Concierge rate limiting uses a cryptographic HMAC-derived identifier rather than using the plain IP address itself as the external application rate-limit key.
No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should therefore avoid submitting unnecessary or highly sensitive personal information through public website features.
9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?
Couples Escapes is a general travel website focused on romantic trips and is not designed or marketed as a service for children.
We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children where collection would require parental consent under applicable law.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in circumstances where it should not have been collected, please contact us at escapescouples@gmail.com.
10. INTERNATIONAL DATA PROCESSING
Some of our service providers operate or process information in countries other than the country in which you are located.
This may include processing by providers located in or operating infrastructure in the United States and other jurisdictions.
Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer of personal information, we seek to use an appropriate legal, contractual, or other recognized transfer mechanism.
11. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?
Privacy rights vary depending on your location and the law applicable to the processing.
Subject to applicable law, rights may include the ability to:

Residents of certain US states may have additional privacy rights if the relevant state privacy law applies to Couples Escapes and to the particular processing activity.
Depending on the jurisdiction and applicable thresholds, these rights may include access, correction, deletion, portability, non-discrimination, and rights concerning targeted advertising, sale, sharing, or certain forms of profiling.

Couples Escapes does not sell personal information in exchange for money.
Depending on the technologies in use and definitions in a particular state law, certain analytics, advertising, or affiliate-related data transfers may potentially qualify as ″sale″ or ″sharing″ even when no monetary payment is made for the personal information itself.
Where an applicable law gives you a right to opt out of such processing and that law applies to us, you may exercise the applicable right using available privacy controls or by contacting us at escapescouples@gmail.com.
Authorized agents
Where applicable law permits an authorized agent to submit a privacy request on your behalf, we may require information reasonably necessary to verify the agent's authority and, where permitted, your identity.
13. DO-NOT-TRACK AND BROWSER PRIVACY SIGNALS
Some browsers and devices provide ″Do Not Track″ or other privacy preference signals.
Because legal requirements and technical standards for browser privacy signals vary by jurisdiction, our handling of a particular signal may depend on whether applicable law requires us to recognize it.
We will update our practices where necessary to comply with legally binding requirements concerning recognized privacy preference signals.

Couples Escapes contains links to third-party websites, booking providers, hotel websites, maps, and other external services.
Once you follow an external link, that third party's privacy policy, cookies, security practices, and terms apply. We encourage you to review the privacy information provided by services you choose to use.
